Donors/Sponsors

I am honored to list our donors and helpers below! These lovely people have not only donated their time, but also have either donated services which normally would translate to thousands of dollars or donated a large sum of money.

http://www.welovevan.com/ is a local bottled water company who is now branching out into coffee. What drew us to them was their charitable work. 10% of all bottled water cash flow is put toward helping the homeless of our beautiful city. Since Angel's Food will be a platform to feed our homeless we HAD to have them involved. They have graciously donated a whole schwack of their bottled water to keep us hydrated at the fundraiser!!! Thank you so much for your generous donation!

http://guayaki.com/ is an absolutely amazing company dedicated to the yerba mate tea. This is an iconic drink in South America, moreso even than coffee. The biggest draws (aside from the taste) are the unending list of health benefits. Guayaki is a company that prefers to market through local events and fundraisers. This is a very smart move, as here i am more than happy to educate you all about the amazing health benefits and the taste! Please view their site for lots of informative videos. One more thing to mention that I found very cool from a business perspective; they charge a little more for their drink (one tall boy retails for 2.69) in order to help the indigenous farmers. The farmers under their employ get a sizable bonus in order to keep them happy, keep the plants happy (they aim to keep the rainforests intact!) and therefore keep the customer happy. I recommend the lemon elation...seriously the best iced tea ever.

http://www.tonywatersagencies.ca/home is a spectacular company in every way! These guys have been on the organic scene in Canada since 1991. Their sole purpose is to help with organic food distribution. I can't tell you how important people like these are to growing organic businesses. Sarah Stewart (Vice President of Operations) is our contact and we'd like to extend a GIGANTIC thank you to her and TWA for their contribution. They've donated a miriad of different organic food products for us to use at the fundraiser...and I just hope they don't get eaten before November 7th!

Perhaps one of the most well known grocery stores in Canada, Loblaws is home to many of our favourite brands, including WeLoveVan and Guayaki Yerba Mate! Best known for President's Choice, a high quality brand of various food products that Canadians have come to know and love. Please do consider them if you've never tried them out! Loblaws is involved in our community in so many more ways than one. The North Vancouver Loblaw's was previously an Extra Foods, but the owner has not changed. Mr. Hugh Ruckman has been donating to the children's camp that our church hosts every summer for the last 25 or so years! Thank you Loblaw's and thank you Mr. Ruckman for being so generous in your community!

Isabel De Los Rios is the founder of http://www.beyonddiet.com/. We owe a lot to her. She is the reason I dropped my initial 80 pounds and continued on to a healthy lifestyle. Please use her site if you are interested in living a healthy life. She has helped hundreds of thousands of people. She also is responsible for 75% of all funds raised thus far, and donated five thousand dollars of her own. Thank you Isabel!!

Sanna Patterson of Dove's Wing Photography. Sanna has a knack for capturing beauty with her camera! She is also a great hairdresser! Look for her on November 7th at the fundraiser, she will be available to book a session, and she will also be selling some of her work! Please consider using her for your next photo session. I SERIOUSLY recommend you take a look at her photos. Even if you don't need the service, these photos are absolutely exquisite! View Sanna's work at www.doveswing.com

Damien Paul Labonte is a freelance commercial artist. He has worked on some big projects. Recently he finished working on The Prophet starring Salma Hayak, and is currently the design supervisor on a new Dreamworks production. He also designed our logo! Here is his rather impressive portfolio: https://damienlabonte.carbonmade.com/

Jacquelyne Laburda holds a special place in our hearts! She's been with us supporting us in in so many more ways than just financially. When I was going through chemo she knitted me a toque because one of my side effects was extreme aversion to cold. When my boys were born, she knitted clothes for them. When we launched our Facebook page, she was faithfully there contributing to discussion. I am pleased and grateful to be able to promote her beautiful artwork. A member of the North Shore Artists Guild (http://nsartists.ca/) and a contemporary impressionist, Jacquie can be found showing off her works of art at many of their shows, and she will be selling many paintings at our event. "Colour and life are Gods gift to mankind. A gift of Love! Through bold brassy brush strokes and vivid colour I feel I am reaching my goal: to portray images of life and life more abundantly! In that I find joy!" See her work here: http://www.jlaburdasart.com/

A love for jewellery, design, and creating things prompted Michelle Fong to launch Black Mahi Designs. Nature, culture, story telling, architecture, and colour serve as sources of inspiration for the collection.  The influence of Michelle's own Asian culture is important and can be seen in many of the pieces. Black Mahi Designs’ jewellery is classic with a modern twist.  There is meaning and a story told by each piece - communicated through the gemstones and/or symbols used.  Each piece has it’s own unique versatility.  The pieces can be worn with jeans, a night on the town, or a wedding. The collection contains pieces made with sterling silver, gold fill, leather, semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski crystal, freshwater pearls, wood, and Japanese hand screened Chiyogami/Yuzen paper, all of which are carefully hand selected.  Each piece is handmade with love in Vancouver, BC by Michelle and her sister Andrea.

Black Mahi Designs believes in giving back and has been involved with community events and charity, such as Michael's Mission for Healthy Living! Be sure to take a look at what they have to offer here: www.blackmahidesigns.com

Grouse mountain is full of beautiful scenery, wonderful places to warm yourself by a fire, great food, great people and the best part? It's a stone's throw away from the rest of Vancouver! Thank you Grouse Mountain for your support!!!

Daniel Scheiber is a successful stock advisor who has completed extensive business training. His contribution has been invaluable. I can only imagine what his time is worth and yet he spent hours with me discussing spreadsheets, finances and general things a business owner should know. (photo pending approval)
